Focus and Priority

The Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) held the Making and Multiplying Disciple (MD2) training in Mongolia, equipping 104 youth leaders from local and international churches with biblical foundations and practical skills for discipleship. This movement aims to spark intentional gospel witness, strengthen churches, and mobilize youth for local and cross-cultural missions. The APBF Mission was leading the coordination with APBYouth and the Mongolian Baptist Convention.

The Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) unites Baptists across 22 countries to share the gospel, strengthen churches, and transform lives in Christ. Through leadership development, youth discipleship, and cross-cultural missions, APBF equips believers to fulfill the Great Commission in diverse cultural contexts.

We sincerely thank UK Baptist churches for supporting APBF’s mission through BMS World Mission. Your prayers and contributions enable us to impact communities across the Asia Pacific with the gospel, equipping leaders and empowering youth for mission and discipleship.

Highlight: Pastor and Youth Conferences in Mongolia

In September 2024, APBF hosted two significant events in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia: the Pastor’s Conference and the Making and Multiplying Disciple (MD2) Youth Training. These events aimed to equip church leaders and youth to advance discipleship movements in their local and global contexts.

The Pastor’s Conference, held on September 25–27, provided 50 pastors with biblical teachings and practical skills to lead discipleship movements in their churches. Following this, the MD2 Youth Training on September 27–29 gathered 101 youth leaders from 15 Mongolian Baptist churches, alongside delegates from India and the Philippines.

The MD2 sessions focused on the biblical foundation of discipleship and practical tools to lead discipleship groups. Through workshops, worship, and testimonies, participants were inspired to take up God’s call to disciple others and engage in the APBY2mil mission—a vision to mobilize 2 million Asian youth for cross-cultural missions by 2030.

Where We Saw God at Work

During the conferences, pastors and youth leaders recommitted to making disciples and sharing the gospel. Many youth responded to altar calls, pledging to serve as missionaries in their schools, workplaces, and beyond. Local churches committed to fostering discipleship movements, ensuring a sustainable impact in their communities.

Thank you for partnering with APBF through BMS World Mission. Your support is vital as we continue equipping leaders and youth to transform lives for Christ across the Asia Pacific.

By the Grace of God, my family have been doing well. Lily my wife, along with my two daughters, Joanna and Melody, were involved in our local church’s children choir musical, called Nic at Night. The musical focused on Nicodemus’ interaction with Jesus in John 3. The preparations and practices for the event which was held on New Year day, took up most of our Christmas holiday. Physically it was tiring, but spiritually it was fulfilling because we can see how God moved and used the children choir to speak to all who came. We got to spend a lot of time as a family going to and back from church and spending time together in church for practices.

  • Please pray for the expansion of capacity of APBF Mission in the installation of the Sub-regional Mission Coordinator. Pray that the connection, communication, and coordination can grow well from APBF Mission to the member conventions.
  • Pray for the continuing relationship with Mongolian Baptists. Pray that the seed that was sown during the two events in September 2024 will continue to grow and bear fruits in believers being obedient disciple.
  • Personally, please pray for an organisational calibration in APBF which I will take part in; pray also for health and protection for me and my family.

Thank you for taking the time to read our prayer letter and for faithfully standing with us in prayer and support. Your partnership is a vital encouragement as we serve together to advance God’s Kingdom across the Asia Pacific. May God bless you abundantly for your generosity and commitment to His mission. We deeply appreciate your prayers, and we look forward to sharing more updates soon.

In His service,

Ardi Wiriadinata
