Krishna was raised in a remote village in eastern Nepal, where his parents, who didn't have the chance for a formal education, worked as farmers. Now he lives in Lalitpur with his wife, Ramila, two children, and mother-in-law. He found the Lord aged 14, but he couldn't attend church for many years because his mother was the sole believer in their village and there wasn’t a church close-by. He currently serves as a deacon of Beth Shalom Church, the first church in Kathmandu valley.
He is deeply passionate about education and children. Education transformed his life, helping him rise from a poor village boy to someone who could reach thousands of students and hundreds of teachers across the country. He firmly believes that education can change anyone's perspective and life. His dream is to see every child receive at least a basic level of quality education, as it is not only their fundamental right but a powerful tool for personal and community development.
God's calling to this work grew from a deep-seated desire to move from serving private schools in Kathmandu valley to making a difference in remote communities through education. It meant leaving behind comfort and a higher salary, choosing instead lower pay and extensive travel, despite his motion sickness and the time away from his family.
As Project Co-ordinator at KISC-EQUIP (Kathmandu International Study Centre – Educational Quality Improvement Programme), he manages an array of programmes and training. He supervises teacher trainers and field staff, compiles reports, and closely monitors the progress of ongoing projects. He also serves as the focal point for child safeguarding, overseeing the development and implementation of policies across partner schools. His work also involves designing and delivering training programmes that enhance the quality of education, particularly through comprehensive teacher training efforts.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading, spending time with family, writing blogs and devotionals and offering career counselling to youth.
