Reflecting on 2024: a year of impact and hope
As we look back on 2024, we are so grateful for the incredible ways God has worked through BMS World Mission supporters to bring hope and transformation to communities around the world. Take a look at some of these key moments that defined your year as a BMS supporter!
BMS at New Wine Festival
Last summer, BMS exhibited at New Wine Festival for the first time ever! It was so great to connect with so many of you and share how your support is making a difference, particularly in the lives of refugees. Lots of you had great fun with our football game too – we hope you’re still cherishing your high scores!
Brand new BMS website
In April we launched our newly designed and much improved BMS website. Thank you so much to all of you who graciously who took the time to share your experiences with our previous site and advise us on the new design. You helped make sure this new site is as accessible as possible and makes your support for world mission that bit easier.
Standing with refugees in Lebanon
The conflict in Lebanon and the wider Middle East is causing immense suffering for many in the region. In response, we launched our Lebanon emergency appeal to provide urgent relief to those affected – thank you so much to everyone who gave so generously to this appeal and helped intervene in this terrible situation. You’re providing food, hygiene items and blankets to people who’ve fled their homes and who are attempting to rebuild. Thank you – and please keep praying for wider peace in the Middle East.
Seeking first the Kingdom
Our Seek first the Kingdom Harvest appeal focused on sowing abundant gospel hope across Bangladesh. In the appeal feature video, you met BMS-supported workers Bina and James, who have been working among communities in need for over ten years, bringing them the hope of Jesus Christ. Your gifts are supporting outreach workers travelling across the country and helping train new workers to reach even more people. The impact of your giving is transforming lives and spreading the gospel across Bangladesh – praise God!
Passing the baton of hope
Thanks to your prayers, Baptist churches in France made a significant impact during the Summer Olympics and Paralympics. BMS workers in Paris and the surrounding areas engaged with their local community through activities like a K-Pop evening, table tennis competitions, and conversation cafés, creating welcoming spaces for visitors and sharing the gospel.
It was so exciting to see Baptist churches operating in a mostly secular context seize this opportunity to share the hope of eternal life in Jesus. Please keep praying that this outreach work will keep having an impact even now.
Magnificent magazines (at least we think so!)
This year you’ve kept reading about and praying for exciting stories of the work you’re making possible in our publications. Your dedication to reading Engage and Mission Catalyst and praying along with the BMS Prayer Guide is truly inspiring. We’re so grateful for the positive feedback we've received, especially on the redesign of Mission Catalyst magazine. Thank you for being a vital part of our journey and for helping us bring hope and transformation to communities around the world. We're excited to keep bringing you exciting stories and fresh thinking around mission in the new year!
