Genesis Acaye

September 2026

Dear Everyone,

Greetings to you all in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

It has been a while but I would like to thank the Lord God for his care and protection all through and daily provision that he is giving to each one of us. In the book of Isaiah 46:4 – "Even to your old age and grey hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you."

God has promised to be with us no matter what we go through in times of bad and good moments, he will always be with us. I want to encourage us as we journey together to spread his love and the gospel through our daily work. In the book of Joshua 1:9 – "Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Let us keep praying and working to expand his kingdom

I would also like to thank the Lord for the successful visits to the UK that happened in June 2026 and I am please to send my appreciation to all the supporting churches (Those that I visited and those that I was not able to visit due to short time), may the Lord continue to watch over you all.

I am back and all is well, we are engaging the local communities to increase our training on the making of Lorena stove among the five communities of Bobi, Lalar, Alelelele, Langol and corner Nwoya. This is another effort to ensure that the energy stoves are build in the communities to help reduce on the use of firewood. This would greatly save the time that women and girls spend looking for fire wood. Some of them walk on foot for over 20 kilometres in search for firewood and some girls miss school or fail to concentrate in their studies due to the work load that they have in effort to take care of the family.

We had three trainings so far and over 60 households benefited from the training and we where able to set committees in each of the group to ensure that they follow up one another and the support them to build this energy saving stove. This will greatly reduce the energy needs of the family by about 50% of the amount of fire woods that would be use for cooking. Its a safe and a more efficient stove that will greatly help improve on the livelihoods of the families and reduce tree harvesting.

The biggest challenge at the moment is the irregular rainfall, by end of August in a normal year, most farmers would be weeding while others will be completing sowing of their seeds for the second season. This is not happening because there is no rain and farmers are still waiting for the rain so that they are able to plan the second season crops.

This year has been odd and the general performance of crops yield has been low and there is likelihood of food shortage. This is very eminent in the north eastern semi arid region that may require intervention from partners, government and agencies to provide relief and food items to support the families cope up with the situation. The climate change is real and very challenging.

Prayer point

Keep praying for the rainfall to be regular especially from this month to December.

Pray for the children as they prepare to go back to school for their last term of the year.

May the Lord Bless you all
