Benon Kayanja Update

Looking back on my month in the UK, I am overwhelmed by God's goodness and the many opportunities He provided to strengthen old friendships and build new partnerships in His service. It was a privilege to worship and share in churches, meet with individuals and families who have faithfully stood with us over many years, and participate in BMS Expect 2026 alongside brothers and sisters from across the global BMS family. These moments of fellowship were far more than a series of meetings; they were a powerful reminder that God's Kingdom is advanced as His people pray, encourage one another, and work together across cultures and continents. I was humbled by the genuine interest so many of you showed in the ministry here in Uganda and by your continued commitment to seeing lives transformed through the Gospel.

One of the greatest blessings of the visit was the opportunity to listen as much as to speak. Through conversations in churches, homes, and over shared meals, I gained fresh perspectives, learned from the experiences of others, and was reminded that God continues to build His Church in remarkable ways around the world. I returned to Uganda spiritually refreshed, encouraged by the faithfulness of God's people, and with renewed vision for the ministries He has entrusted to us through Justice Livelihoods Health. Above all, I came home with a deeper appreciation that although we serve in different contexts, we remain one body in Christ, united in His mission and dependent upon His grace.

During the months of March to June, the work at Justice Livelihoods Health (JLH) continued to focus on strengthening the Church as an agent of holistic transformation within its communities. During April and May, we had the privilege of facilitating Church and Community Mobilisation Process (CCMP) Information Gathering training for church leaders and community facilitators in both Kasese and Northern Uganda. This stage of the CCMP journey equips churches and communities to move beyond general observations by gathering accurate information about the realities they face, enabling them to understand their context more deeply and make informed decisions about the changes they wish to see. Rather than relying on assumptions, churches are learning to listen carefully, engage their communities, and identify both the needs and the God-given resources already present among them. It has been greatly encouraging to witness church leaders embracing this process with enthusiasm, recognising that effective and sustainable transformation begins with understanding the community well and discerning together how God is calling them to respond.

As always, I would greatly value your continued prayers. Please join me in thanking God for His protection throughout my travels and for the rich fellowship, encouragement, and new friendships experienced during my time in the UK.

Pray that the many conversations, relationships, and seeds planted during the visit will bear lasting fruit for God's Kingdom, and that He will continue to strengthen the partnerships established and renewed. Please also pray for wisdom and discernment as I continue to lead and serve in the ministries God has entrusted to us here in Uganda. Remember the work of Justice Livelihoods Health (JLH) as we seek God's provision for ongoing and new initiatives, trusting Him to open the right doors and provide the resources needed to serve communities effectively. Finally, I would value your prayers that God would continue to use me to build and deepen meaningful partnerships with brothers and sisters from the many nations represented at BMS Expect 2026, so that together we may faithfully participate in His mission of making Christ known and bringing hope to communities around the world.
