Happy New Year and warm greetings from Phnom Penh to all our supporters.
The last two months have been busy with all kinds of events. In the month of December Horaios Baptist Church with the dormitorystudents have Christmas outreach events on every Sunday except on 22nd December which we celebrated Christmas in the Horaios Baptist Church. Because of your prayer and contribution in the BMS mission the ministry could go smoothly during the last two months. As mentioned in the previous Prayer letter to pray for Christmas outreach events. All the planned events for Christmas outreach could be done by the grace of God and we are thankful to all our supporters as you have been praying for us. Your prayers are not in vain. Let me highlight the outreach ministry which was also posted in the previous prayer letter.
Christmas Outreach Evangelism: Christmas season is a time to preach the gospel among people who do not know Christ. We take this opportunity to spread the good news to the people of Cambodia. This year in all the three focus villages we could celebrate Christmas with a meaningful program. In the outreach Christmas celebration, the Horaios Dorm students and Horaios Baptist Church members take an important role in the worship service. The project fund has been purposefully utilized for Christmas gifts for the families in the villages Christmas Gifts pack including food items: cooking oil, garlic 1 kg each, sugar 1 kg each, salt 1 kg; seasoning 1 bottle, fish sauce, and liquid washing dish 500 ml. Moreover, more than 150 children got study materials (note book, pencil case, ruler, eraser, sharpener etc).
Tropeangrun: We celebrated Christmas in Tropeangrun on 8th December morning. As there is no Christian yet, we rented a tent and chairs. Approximately 60 Adults and 40 children gathered together. We gave each family a Christmas gift pack and gave study materials to all the children. Since all attendees were non-Christians, we were happy to have the opportunity to share the meaning of Christmas, focusing on God’s love.
Vehpous village: We celebrated Christmas in Vehpous village on 8th December in the afternoon. Members of the community were given a Christmas gift food items pack. Children were also given a study material. We had dinner together.
Svaysor village: On 29th December one of the focus villages celebrated Christmas. More than 200 people gathered together half of them were not Christian. I was preaching about the eternal life given by God.
Kydan Roy: Kydan Roy is one of the villages nearby Phnom Penh where three ladies’ missionaries from Mizoram are doing their mission work. Every Year Horaios team joined their Christmas celebration as outreach ministry performing drama, song leaders etc. more than 100 people gathered in this event.
Horaios Baptist Church: Our mission Center Church celebrated Christmas on 22d December 2024. More than 150 people joined the celebration. Gift items were distributed to three church members. This year my wife Lalrengpuii got opportunity to preach the word of God in the celebration of Christmas in the Horaios Baptist Church.
Church Leaders training: On 10th January church leaders training was conducted at Vehpous Baptist Church. More than 25 church members from different churches in this area were attending this event. I was a resource person.
Personal and Family update:
The last two months are the tight scheduled month for our family, thank God. In all the outreach ministry even all my children were able to join the events in different places. January is a special month for our family as two of our children born in this month Caleb 29th January and Rosangpuii on 2nd January. Our family is doing well children are able to continue their schooling. We thank God and our supporters for your concern and prayer. My Wife is also taking up her ministry responsibility among the village children.
Experiencing a wonderful work of God to get building for rent: As mentioned in the previous prayer letters, we are looking for a new place for one group of (Girls or Boys) dormitory and a place to worship. God has answered your prayers and we have experienced God's wonderfulprovision in our ministry. In the month of December, one mission organization is letting us rent their building as they are going to resettle their ministry. However, through one Indian missionary friend, Adono, who is also a volunteer mission worker in their NGO, they came to know we are looking for a house for rent for ministry purposes. Adono helped us in negotiating with them; they subsidized us and offered us the whole building for $1500/month. But still out of our budget, so they let us rent part of the building which is within our budget even though we need the whole building for the growing mission work. This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our sight. The Boys dormitory would move in on 1st February according to the agreement. There is a lot of work to be done and God's help to be able to bring all the mission work in one place.
Prayer requests:
o Praise God for all the Christmas outreach events happened so far, more than 800 people heard about Christ. Pray that all the people who heard the Christmas message, God would open their hearts to Jesus.
o Pray for the 19 students, 10 girls and 9 boys who are presently staying in the hostel they may be a faithful follower of Christ.
o Pray for more students as we rent bigger building, we may be able to accommodate 5 more students.
o Pray for Thongsy a young woman, who just completed her graduation and is going to join two-year course of Bible college in Phnom Penh.
We valued and acknowledge your support and giving your time to read our prayer letters. As always, we are pleased to inform you that we are ministering together and the report which you have read is your ministry. May this year 2025 brings you joy and happiness. Thank you for being an integral part of BMS and BCM Mission in Cambodia.
Psalm 118:23- This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
