Relief Lead

Role Overview 

Are you passionate about making a difference in times of crisis? As Relief Lead, you will play a key role in developing and implementing BMS’ relief work not only in Asia but across the world, supporting communities affected by conflict, natural disasters, and emergencies. You will work closely with diverse partner organisations, humanitarian networks, and churches to deliver effective disaster response and preparedness, and strengthen relationships for long-term impact. We welcome applications across Asia, in particular from India, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.  

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee management of BMS relief fund and grants for crisis response globally 

  • Support partners with programme design for emergency and recovery (livelihoods, shelter, WASH, medical) as well as disaster preparedness 

  • Ensure robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning for relief and preparedness projects 

  • Provide expert advice and updates to BMS staff and stakeholders 

  • Coordinate surge capacity and preparedness training for partners in disaster-prone countries 

  • Represent BMS in humanitarian networks such as Asia-Pacific Baptist Aid, Baptist Disaster Response System, and other regional collaborations 

  • Integrate cross-cutting themes (gender justice, creation stewardship) into relief work 

  • Collaborate with Communications and Fundraising teams to share stories and support funding applications 

  • Participate in BMS Crisis Management Team and contribute to BMS events

Employment type: Full-time/Permanent

Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary range: competitive
