Prayer

As far as work is concerned, many patients have benefited from the hospital's care and have been discharged, full of joy and gratitude to God and to G2 hospital.

The maternity unit has seen a lot of births (more than 300 births in March). The number of cases of caesarean section has increased following the awareness of the population by our community agents and elders in prenatal consultations. We have also dealt with many other hospital cases, on average 100 cases per month. Following the improper driving of motorcycles and vehicles, many people have brought family members for healing to G2.

We thank the Lord for the organisation, Sahel Life of Germany, who contributed to the donation of hip replacement equipment and we give thanks for Dr. Walter, producer and donor of hip replacement equipment. We thank the Lord for the contribution of Dr. Claudia and her husband in Gynaecology and maintenance. Their contribution was a great help to the hospital and to our patients.

We are most grateful to the Lord who not only heals many people physically but also saves them. I think God stirs up situations for people to be healed at G2 and that when people come to G2 they not only experience physical healing, but also find their spiritual healing and their salvation.    


John 1:7-9  'He came as as witness to testify concerning the light, so that through him all might believe.  He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.  The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.'

I thank the Lord who always supports me in my responsibilities. We thank God for our third son Jacob who got married.

In all things, the Lord remains our shepherd, leads us and smoothes the way for us to continue His work.  

Proverbs 16:7 says,  'When the Lord approves of a man's ways, He disposes favourably to him even his enemies.'

We give thanks that financially the hospital has received your support through BMS. Cost recovery has also been accessed to cover some of our expenses. We give thanks for the financial autonomy of the pharmacy.    In particular, we give thanks for the financial sustainability of the pharmacy and the joy that is expressed by all who serve in the pharmacy.  Additionally, we give thanks for the finance department which has created a very big improvement with the help of Lucia Bastos who is in charge of projects and management.

Our relationship with the Indigenous population in and around G2 is improving. We held a meeting with the heads of the squares and everyone was happy with the hospital.

There are also challenges that we ask your prayers for: 

- Staff expect a salary increase due to the high cost of living.

- Communication problems due to different dialects, which frustrate different parties.

- Decisions to have caesarean sections contested by the families, risking the life of the mother and child. 

- Lack of resources for the care of certain patients.

- The intense heat

I learned a lesson, patience is a fruit that produces fruit.  I have found lessons as I have sought to bring patience into my relationships. In all the government administrative offices I have found favour and I am congratulated for the service well rendered.

1. I thank the Lord for the moral, spiritual and financial support of all churches and individuals through BMS.
2. I thank the Lord for all the friends and Christian family who pray for us and support us.
3. I thank the Lord for all the short-term missionaries and their organisations who hold us in their hearts and come to help us.
4. I thank the Lord for making us share in the salvation of humankind and the work of his hand in our services.
5. I thank the Lord for all my fellow missionaries and employees of the G2 hospital, for the team spirit and goodwill of everyone who has contributed to the success of the hospital.
6. I will ask you to pray that the Lord will grant me more courage, wisdom and discernment to do better.
7. Pray that our solar system for each missionary would have sufficient solar energy to cool our homes.
8. Pray that God will grant us a project manager.
9. Pray that God will grant us a gynaecologist.
10. Pray that God will grant us a surgeon.
11. Pray that the land of the hospital be granted to us permanently.
12. Pray for the safety of and wellbeing of the staff of G2.
13. Pray that the population surrounding the hospital will have an increasingly better relationship with us.
14. Let's pray for my eldest daughter who is having problems with her husband.
15. Let us pray that our children pass their exams.

It is a great privilege to serve the Lord in Chad with your support, despite the difficulties and challenges in the workplace.
It is through these challenges that God reforms the character of each person to make it more useful for His service. This is how He causes us to learn and grow. Thank you for all the support of the churches and individuals through BMS for the happiness of the Chadian people, God bless you.
