Dear Friends
Greetings from Thailand. Uttaradit is still reeling from storm Bua Loy, which caused the worst flooding in the province for 80 years. Many people had to be rescued from their flooded homes, and schools and hospitals were also affected. Many farmers lost their rice crop after their fields were flooded. Praise God the heavy rains have stopped now but the clean-up is still ongoing.
In September, a team from Ashurst Drive Baptist Church, UK came to visit. They were only with us for five days but they gave their all to help us in the ministry here. This included, running a children's event for the Ban Dara kids, an evangelistic service in Wang Daeng for all thee of our churches, and local visiting of both believers and seekers. Ann, the physiotherapist on the team, was able to help a number of people to improve their mobility. Praise God for all who heard the good news and for those who came to faith.
At the beginning of October, Rev Raymond Mooi and team from Malaysia came to run 3 'miracle nights' as well as daily seminars. The seminars were a great time of faith-building and in the final session all of our church members who attended went forward to dedicate their lives to serve in the Kingdom of God. At the evening rallies we saw many people miraculously healed and give their lives to Christ. Quite a number of people from both Wang Daeng and Ban Dara received healing and two people prayed to accept Jesus. Some of our members were part of a team who helped in ushering as well as praying for the sick. It was exciting for them to see the power of God at work.
After the Miracle Night rallies we were all set to go on a ministry trip, when Wit suddenly became very ill and had to be rushed to hospital. Praise God they were able to help him, and after three days he was discharged. It was a bit of a wake-up call that maybe we have been overdoing things in past days and God wants us to rest.
Soon, we will be doing just that by going on a retreat, followed by a special holiday to meet up with Helen's siblings, the four of them haven't been together for almost forty years! Our son and his wife with our granddaughter will also be there, along with some of our nieces and their partners. We are really looking forward to this time of rest and relaxation.
In Ban Dara, the land has now been completely cleared and levelled ready to be filled with soil to raise the height. We hope to begin the building work in January 2026, so please pray for wisdom in planning, for good relationships with neighbours and for finance.
Up in Maeasan, Pastor Newton is preparing four new believers for baptism next month. He is also planning to run a children's camp at the end of October, with the assistance of leaders from Wang Daeng and Ban Dara. Please pray that through both of these events, many would hear the Good News of Jesus.
Best is a lady that we have been visiting for a couple of years now. She had a condition that made it hard for her to swallow and she was painfully thin. After much prayer her health began to improve but went downhill again when we were away for several months. Her family were expecting that she wouldn't live long, but now through prayer and faith for healing she has improved considerably. She has accepted Jesus and is keen to study the Bible. Please pray for her continued healing, and that she would grow in her faith. Also pray for her husband and two children to come to faith.
Pray for the Bless Tron rally on November 7th - an evangelistic event run by the Protestant churches. Since the Wang Daeng church is in Tron District they will be very much involved in this,
Pray for the Christmas events in Wang Daeng on 13th December - for the health volunteers and on 21st December - for friends and relatives.
Pray for the Ban Dara event on the 21st December, which will be held outdoors in the market area.
Pray for the mother of two young abandoned boys, Toon and Mike, to agree to their attending a Christian boarding school.
Pray for the aftermath of storm Bua Loy, in particular for those who have lost their homes and for the farmers whose crops were destroyed.
Pray for a peaceful resolution to the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia.
Blessings in Christ
Wit & Helen
