HARVEST TIME

Greetings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I trust that you are all well in the care of the Lord of Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 40:31 ‘but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint’ (NIV). Let us keep trusting in God in all circumstances for He is the source of our strength and in him we have the hope for tomorrow for He makes the sun to set and rise the next day. He gives us the air to breath and energy to carry out our roles every day. May the name of the Lord be praised.

Its harvest season now in the northern part where we are. The crops that were planted in the first season around April and May are now being harvested. The farmers are busy carrying out the harvest and also preparing the field to be ready for the second season crops and others are already planting for the second season.

The rain has been fairly well distributed which has greatly contributed to the good harvest for crops such as maize, beans, soybean, tomatoes, cabbages, cassava and others. The farmers we are working with are also harvesting their crops, meanwhile others are selling theirs too.

Field visits to a few selected farmers showcase what most families are doing. The majority are food secure and you can clearly see that the families have maize, cassava and others. We are sure that at least they have food to eat and income through the sale of their produce.

We were visited by Gladys and Wahome from BMS who interacted with the local churches and farmers listening to their stories and sharing experiences. The visit was so encouraging to us and the farmers as well through observation and exchange of views looking at what the farmers are doing on the ground. They were able to pray with the farmers and encourage them to work hard and have better lives using the resources that God has given to them, especially land, which is the main source of livelihoods.

They also encouraged the church and community mobilisation facilitators to continue supporting the Christians through the bible studies to help the Christians work hard to improve their own lives and also reach out to the nearby communities causing transformation.

 Continue to pray for:

- Good rain in the second season so that the farmers will have abundant harvest in the second season as well.

- Church and community mobilisation facilitators as they guide their churches through bible studies to create transformation.

- Safety as we travel to meet with the farmers and the rural churches.

Thank you so much for the support and prayers offered towards the ministry here. We pray that God will continue to bless you and watch over you.

May the Lord bless you all,

 Genesis
