Pastor J

July 2025

Live Loud. Love Bold. Share Jesus.!

Greetings to all our fellow servants in Christ. We deeply appreciate your faithful prayers and generous support. Your partnership in the work of the Lord is truly meaningful, and we sincerely thank you for standing with us in the mission of advancing God's kingdom.

A Note of Thanks

Before I share updates from our ministry in Cambodia, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made my recent visit to churches (10 churches) in England and Wales possible. It was a joy to be with you from June 24th to July 14th, 2025.

I’m very grateful to the BMS for planning and supporting the trip. I especially want to thank Kwame, who was my main contact and helped with all the details. I also thank Mission Director Arthur Brown, and Church Relationship Coordinators Susanna Somerville and John Settatree for organizing my visits.

Thanks to all the Pastors and leaders and members of the churches who welcomed me so kindly. I felt very blessed during my time with you. I learned a lot and was touched by your warmth and generosity and mission minded ministry. I believe this visit has brought us closer in our mission work. I also hope the presentations gave you a clearer picture to help guide your prayers.

Thanks God during my absent in Cambodia our ministry is going well. Let me highlight some of the activities within the last two weeks over June and July.

Two-Days House to house Evangelism Event: Our evangelists, along with some house group leaders, conducted an evangelism ministry at Damnaktrach village which is around 20 Kilometers from our focus village Vehpous, on May 18–19, 2025. A total of 35 people were reached with the good news. Among them 11 people said that they are interested to follow Jesus Christ however, they wanted to know more before taking Baptism.

Youth conference: On July 25–26 (Friday and Saturday), a discipleship training event was conducted by the Big Life Ministry and hosted by Horaios Ministry. Approximately 40 young participants from Cambodia and Vietnam took part in the training. The sessions were led by Abigail, daughter of Benjamin Francis one of the BMS mission workers in India, who served as the speaker throughout the event. We are grateful to God that Horaios ministry could provide a place for this event.

Discipleship training: On July 29th, 2025 (Tuesday), an Evangelism Skills Development Training was conducted at Svaysor Baptist Church (About 350 Km from Phnom Penh) Pastor J. served as the resource person, nearly 50 church leaders through the sessions. The training focused on equipping participants to communicate their faith effectively and clearly to non-believers within the Cambodian cultural context. This event is the day of completion of the training course Svaysor village Area.

Personal and Family update:

Grateful to God for a safe return to Cambodia on July 15 after nearly two months in the UK. While I was away, my wife and children visited the villages, spending four days in children’s ministry.

Our children—Caleb (Grade 10), Sarah (Grade 6), and Puipuii (Grade 4)—will start school on August 5. As the new term begins, we're facing increased educational expenses, and due to broader distribution of funds, the sponsorship we receive from the Baptist Church of Mizoram has been reduced, leaving a noticeable gap in covering school fees.

We humbly ask for your continued prayers as we navigate this situation. May God provide wisdom and provision as we seek to meet our children's educational needs.

Prayer requests

Please pray for peace between Cambodia and Thailand. The two countries have had disagreements over land for a long time, especially near historic temples like Preah Vihear. After five days of fighting that killed more than 40 people and forced over 300,000 civilians to flee their homes, a ceasefire was signed on July 28, 2025. However, small clashes still happen, with both sides blaming each other for breaking the peace deal.

Our ministry hasn’t been directly affected. The sensitive area is about 400 kilometers from Phnom Penh, where we are staying. However, some of our dorm students and church members have relatives in the army and police who are currently stationed there. So far, we haven’t received any bad news from them. Please continue to keep them in your prayers.

Let us continue to pray for the college students staying in the Horaios dormitory. May those who are already Christians grow in their spiritual lives and may those who have yet to be enlightened open their hearts to follow Jesus. Let us also pray for their success in their studies.

Let’s give thanks to God for three new believers in Vehpous Baptist village who have joyfully decided to be baptized! We’re preparing to hold the baptism service soon and celebrate this beautiful step of faith together.

Thank you so much for standing with us and for reading our prayer updates. Your support means a lot. It gives us strength, and your prayers remind us that we’re not alone in this journey. Because of your partnership, we’re serving together—bringing hope and showing God’s love to the people of Cambodia, step by step.

Romans 1:16 – “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile.”
