Greetings to all our co-workers in Christ. Your prayers and support are not in vain. We sincerely thank you for your kindness and for joining us in spreading God's kingdom—both in the world and especially here in Cambodia. Your prayers and support give us strength and wisdom to continue serving God, even through various challenges.
Now, let me share some of the key activities we have organized and directly participated in over the past two months.
Training songs and worship leading: A training session for worship leaders and song leaders was held at Horaios Baptist Church on April 27, 2025. I was the resource person after the Sunday worship service. This type of training is essential for church members, as most of them are newly converted Christians from different backgrounds.
Two-Day Evangelism Event: Our evangelists, along with some house group leaders, conducted an evangelism ministry at Angkrolanh Kush Commune on May 14–15, 2025. A total of 57 people were reached with the good news. Another evangelism event is planned for June.
Study Tour: On May 14–15, 2025, students from Horaios Dormitory embarked on a study tour to Angkor Wat in Siem Reap—the largest religious monument in the world—and Tonle Sap Lake, one of the biggest freshwater fishing grounds in the world. The purpose of this trip was to help students gain knowledge and understanding of Cambodia’s historical monuments and their significance to the country's economy. Members of Horaios Baptist Church also participated in this memorable trip, which was led by one of our mission team members, Ms. Lalrelkimi.
Horaios Dormitory Gospel Meet: A two-night, two-day gospel gathering was held for Horaios From May 24th to 26th, 2025, dormitory college students gathered for a meaningful gospel event. They shared testimonies, expressed joy and sorrow, and had deep discussions, strengthening their understanding and commitment to God. The theme, "Real change in life begins with Jesus," guided the sessions, which students attended based on their schedules. Testimonies from Ms. Thongsy and Mr. Chinthan inspired many, and Christian students found renewed faith. It was a powerful experience, as several students dedicated their lives to God with tears in their eyes. Thank you for your prayers.
Retreat and Evangelism Training: This was held at Svaysor Baptist Church on May 23rd, 2025 (Friday), with around 30 people attending. In this program, we learned how to share God's word using Cambodian cultural valued stories and traditions. We also explored ways to use cultural practices effectively in evangelism. I was resource person. This time I include a short video clip to let you see the place and people and how we conducted the training program in the village.
Bible Knowledge Exam: A scripture knowledge exam was conducted for the students staying in Horaios Dormitory on April 30th, focusing on Genesis chapters 1–3 and the miracles performed by Jesus. Cash prizes were given to the students. Horaios Dormitory currently has 19 students. Special prizes were awarded to the top three scorers, while the remaining 16 students received consolation prizes. We are proud that all students scored high marks—proof that our Bible study was fruitful and that they remembered what they learned. May God bless each of them.
By God's grace, our family is doing well. Our children will have summer vacation from June 6th to August 31st. During the holiday, our son Caleb who has now completed his grade 9 plans to volunteer in their school at summer school for one month, helping the teacher. My wife plans to spend at least a week in the village with our children, doing children's ministry. As I mentioned in my previous prayer letter, I plan to visit the UK. BMS has arranged for me to visit their headquarters and the churches that support our ministry. I have received my visa and booked my flight. I am very excited to meet the supporters and church leaders in the UK. My flight departs from Phnom Penh on June 24th and I will return on July 14th, 2025.
This prayer letter includes the testimony of a dormitory student, Sun Sovanbotai, who was baptized on February 9th, 2025. The original script is in Cambodian language and has been translated into English.
"My name is Sun Sovanbotey (Tey). I was born on January 11, 2003, and I am from Kampot Province. I come from a Buddhist family. After finishing Grade 12, I moved to Phnom Penh to study Law. Although I didn’t have much money, I stayed in a rented house with a friend. Some of my friends stay at Horaios Dormitory, and they informed me about a vacancy for one more girl. So, I left my rented room and moved into the dormitory, where I only had to pay minimal rent and felt much safer. When I was young and living in my village, I studied English at a center run by Christians, where we were also taught about God. However, I never tried to know Him better and didn’t want to consider following Him.
At the dormitory, we have regular Bible studies, fellowship, and Sunday services. I always had many questions for our pastor. Slowly, I began to understand the word of God. I started to believe in the Bible and in Jesus, and I put my faith in God. I began praying, even though I didn’t know how to pray. When I prayed, I felt His presence—I knew there was something special about Jesus. I knew in my heart that Jesus is real, so I decided to become a Christian and follow Jesus, as I believe He is the true God. I was baptized on February 9, 2025. I am happy to be a follower of Jesus Christ. I am a new believer, still young in my faith, but I trust that God will guide me and help me grow spiritually."
Give thanks to God, as the required documents—visa for visiting the UK, travel insurance, and flight tickets—are ready for my journey. Kindly pray for my visit to the BMS Headquarters and the churches in the UK. Please also pray for my family to have a meaningful and quality time while I am away.
Pray for our supported Bible School student, Thonsy, as she prepares for her exam in early June, after which she will embark on a one-month practical ministry.
Let us continue to pray for the college students staying in the Horaios dormitory. May those who are already Christians grow in their spiritual lives, and may those who have yet to be enlightened open their hearts to follow Jesus. Let us also pray for their success in their studies.
We are truly grateful for your support and for taking the time to read our prayer letters. Your encouragement means so much to us. Through your prayers and partnership, we are working together in ministry, and everything we do is a reflection of the mission we share. This report is not just about our work—it’s about how God is using all of us to reach people in Cambodia. Thank you for being a vital part of His mission!
