Prayer letter

We give thanks to God for all His support and guidance in the work at Guinebor2 Hospital. God has been good to me and to the entire Guinebor2 Hospital staff. My family and I have enjoyed good health.

Improvements continue in various hospital departments, and we are very grateful for all your support, both spiritual, material and financial. God continues to show His goodness and love towards the people of Chad through Guinebor2 Hospital health services. God has granted us favour with the Chadian’s tax authority to settle the hospital debts. Orthopaedic surgery and implants (hip replacement implants) were given to patients by Dr. Carsten from Germany. God continues saving lives here and this is proof of His hand. All this shows that your prayers are being answered!

We thank God for the online training on Leadership Management provided to us, who are part of the Senior Management Team (SMT). This has strengthened the team's capacity to better manage personnel and the provided portfolio of health services. The Finance team has also implemented a new software for salary management, improving our cost recovery, and the management of our pharmacy stock.

The Hamlets are in the process of adapting to Ndjamena and the hospital's environment, and Roger has also been able to visit the Meskine Hospital as planned in Cameroon. This, for him to learn how staff over there manage prosthetics services that he and wife Ingrid would like also to implement here at G2 Hospital.

The missionary couple from Brazil have arrived; they are learning the local Arabic and French languages to start their work at the Hospital. This will make the medical team more efficient.

Our finance system has seen a lot of improvement with the new Sage software. It includes stock management in the pharmacy and product sales. Despite the slow start of our staff learning about how to use the software, we finally have a good control system that look after the hospital financial processes.

We achieved a good quarterly result both medically and financially. We are happy to have contributed to help 27 patients to restore their ability to walk again through femoral prostheses with fewer complications.

We had a good Labor Day event at the beginning of May, with a large number of staff who participated. It is a pride for Guinebor2 hospital to take part in this International Workers' Day celebration. We want to thank our God who also supports us in our challenges.

The heat in Chad during this period is harsh; the staff, as well as patients and their families here suffer a lot due to the extreme heat! Our solar energy system is limited and unfortunately, we cannot provide ventilation to all our patients in the wards. As a result, they end up carrying and using their own fans, which drains the energy from the hospital and increases our expenses on diesel.

The lack of wheelchairs to transport bedridden patients remain a significant need at the Guinebor2 hospital and we thank BMS and all the organisations for their support. We thank the Lord who continues to bless us. We thank the staff for their dedication to serving God at the hospital.

Pray that God grants us a Surgeon and a Gynaecologist who carry the hospital's vision and work.

Pray for people capable of training in Administration, Imaging, Nursing and Medicine to increase the level and quality of care at G2 Hospital.

Pray for peace and social cohesion.

Pray that God grants us more sources of electrical energy.

Pray that God supports, guides and protects our families.

Thank you for all your support and contributions to keep us functional and beneficial to the Chadian people and for being part in the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

Your servant,

Kalbassou Doubassou.
