March update
Hello everyone,
I am Rev. Barnabas Hemrom from Bangladesh, serving the Lord Almighty God as a Mission Coordinator.
I would love to share the mission activities and new mission field, Action Team Activities, Baptist Mission Training Center’s (BMTC) training on "Diploma in Applied Mission" training plan for Evangelists, those who are working in different mission fields in Bangladesh. Also I would like to share the challenging situation in Bangladesh. But your prayers are encouraging us and showing the way to keep sharing the gospel and giving testimony to glorify the Lord.
We had Action Team program. There are 11 youth who come from different areas and Churches. We gave them orientation and training, after that we send them to the field. They visited the Churches and different cultural people groups. The people, engaged in some activities with children and youth, enjoyed different food. They visited some families, joined some spiritual events, and heard about some of the difficulties facing some cultures through interviewing some of the people. The action teams went through different situations which helped build them up for their personal walk with Jesus. They came back after completing their mission and had a debrief. They were excited to visit the new areas and experienced the wonderful, almighty and merciful work of God. I was excited to hear their testimonies and to see they are committed to serve the Lord and committed to serve their own Church.
The Baptist Mission Training Centre is in the 2nd year of training for a "Diploma in Applied Mission" for the evangelist and it is going on well. They have completed 1st year training. This year training plan are below:
March 2nd – 6th Church & Community Transformation Week - planting churches with a community transformation/holistic mind-set.
April 28th - May 1st How to disciple people one by one.
June 16th - 20th Pastoral Skills Week (covering trauma, safeguarding, counselling skills).
September 1st - 4th How to use different discipleship tools.
October 6th-10th Family, Gender and Ministry.
November 24th-28th Baptist Principles and Church Planting.
June 2nd-6th Session One: Practical mission and church planting skills
August 4th-7th Session Two: Spiritual disciplines and resilience
October 20-23rd Session Three: Pastoral and leadership skills
Our trainees are enjoying the training and equipping for extending the Kingdom of God. After getting training, they go back to their various locations and put into practise what they have learned, working and sharing the gospel strategically and powerfully.
Over the past few months we have being visiting different new mission fields almost all over Bangladesh. I am really enjoying the mission work and I have started online Doctor of Ministry studies in Nepal. It is expensive for me. I am excited how God is working in my life.
My daughter is leading the Sunday School and youth activities in Dhaka Baptist Church, she is now in her final year for her honors degree. She has dreams to study for her Masters level abroad. Now days living standard is very high, but God is faithful all the time.
Life changing stories: Selina Hasda did not know Jesus Christ, the first time she heard the gospel was from our evangelist and she became very angry. But evangelist family visited her family many times and shared the gospel with them. For many days she has no response. But one day Selina Hasda came to the evangelist with her husband and two children and she share testimony that, how Jesus changed her life and family. They received Christ their personal saviour. Praise the Lord.
Roton Kisku’s had bad habit in his life. For his bad habit his family suffered for a long time. Our evangelist supported by BMS shared the Gospel with him. Jesus changed his life, now he is free from his bad habit and his family is happy. Now they are getting ready to get baptised. Praise the Lord.
Currently the situation in our country is not good, but God is protecting us and and working through us to extend His Kingdom.
o Pray for the Action Team, that God will continue to use them for His Kingdom wherever they go.
o Pray for new believers, that they would grow in Christ and share their new found joy wisely with others.
o Please pray for the successful training of the evangelists in their 2nd year
o Please pray for my Doctoral Studies and the finacial resources to complete the studies successfully.
o Pray for God's protect and peace for Bangladesh.
