This latest prayer letter is one in which there is not much to share as much of the last two months has been spent off work, due to a combination of sick leave, compassionate leave and annual leave, generally related to the passing away of Daniel's father John.
The main event since our last prayer letter was the thanksgiving service for John's life which was held at Sudbury Baptist Church in September. It was a poignant occasion attended by many of John's BMS colleagues from his days in Brazil. Daniel gave a word on behalf of the family, Regiane led prayers in English and Spanish and Ana did a Bible reading from one of John's favourite Psalms along with her cousin Emma.
We were blessed to have Daniel's nephew Mateus come over from Brazil along with his wife. They accompanied Pastor Elizabete, "Betinha" who worked with John during his days in Fortaleza and she gave a word at the service representing the churches and organizatios John worked with in Brazil.
Since returning to duty with IBTS in mid-October Daniel has been mainly engaged in preparing reports for IBTS' different partners who provide funding. This is proving to be a slightly more complex operation than he normally envisaged as there is both a new principal at IBTS and administrator, so that much of the work involves chasing up the information needed.
Ana is now starting her second year of studies at Medical School. This initiated with a placement at Gloucester Hospital for 3 weeks. Her first task was to participate in an amputation surgery, which consisted of many prayers not to faint in the face of so much blood! She was grateful that she was able to remain steady throughout the whole surgery.
Please pray for Regiane as she continues to seek to find the cause of the severe neck and back pain that she has been experiencing this year.
Please pray for Ana in her second year at medical school.
Please pray for Daniel has he seeks to conclude these important reports for IBTS as quickly as possible.
Please pray for Daniel's mum and the rest of the family as they continue to grieve the loss of John Clark.
