Ephesians 5:20 says, "Continually give thanks for all things to God the Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ."
God continued being favourable towards us at Guinebor 2 Hospital’s family over the last couple of months. He ensured our safety and blessed us in many ways.
We finally received the framework agreement's signature between the Ministry of Health and the Hospital of Guinebor 2. We have also completed the construction of the new Emergency and Triage rooms, thanks to the financial contribution of the Overseas Aid and Development Commission of the States of Guernsey (GOADC) from the UK. This means that G2 now has the capacity to accommodate 13 patients in the emergency room.
We are also grateful to our Lord because the hospital received a new blood type digitalised machine and others contributions from the Oubre Family Foundation.
The Hungarian Embassy has given us two oxygen machines and promised to boost our solar energy system which is in great need of extension.
After much work and training, the finance department at G2 hospital under the care of our colleague Lucia Bastos's leadership, finally put in place protocols and policies for credible and efficient financial transaction procedures. Since then, our finances look better organised and this is helping us to keep a close eye in the hospital expenditure.
We praise the Lord for our pharmacy because this has always had the needed medication within the reach of our patients.
Many of our served patients have regained their smiles! For instance, Mr Mbodou, a 25-year-old man, who received a replacement of the right femoral head, remains very grateful to God and to Guinebor 2 hospital for the received health service.
Also, pregnant women are grateful to G2 medical staff for helping them to deliver their babies in a safe and secure environment and the malnourished children who come to us very ill returned to their homes healthier.
Dr Tim, a Maxilo facial surgeon, together with his wife, are changing peoples lives here with the work that they do. In general, all hospital staff do everything they can to care for the patients who come to the hospital.
In despite of the many blessings mentioned above, we continue facing many challenges. For example, the hospital guards that help both hospital staff and patients to keep safe and mantain order were changed by the military under the orders of the Chadian Minister of Security. However, after many requests and complaints from us, the Minister finally approved the return of the previous security system, which is run by the local police.
We continue with the lack of a full time surgeon and a gynaecologist. Without these key staff we are continuously overworked and under much pressure.
Also the main road that was supposed to be finished by now, continues unfinished and now this is in worse conditions that this was before. This is causing accidents instead.
Thank the Lord for the spiritual and financial support from the UK churches through BMS.
Give thanks to our father for Lucia Bastos' work alongside the hospital finance department colleagues.
Praise God for the new Emergency and Triage buildings. This thanks to the financial contribution of the Overseas Aid and Development Commission of the States of Guernsey (GOADC) from the UK.
Let's thank the Lord for the Hungarian Baptist Church and the Oubre family foundation and for all their contributions to equip the Guinebor 2 hospital.
Thank the Lord for G2 staff's commitment to the served patients and for their protection.
Let us thank the Lord for his faithfulness in protecting our international colleagues at G2.
Let us pray God for his wisdom, discernment and knowledge given to us as the hospital staff.
Pray that God will provide the hospital with the most needed surgeon and a gynaecologist.
Pray that the Lord will continue keeping my family safe.
Pray for our staff and patients road safety and that the road construction will be finished soon. Especially the part that goes from Guinebor to Amsinene.
Let's pray that the Hungarian Embassy promise to help us to boost the hospital solar system comes true.
Continue praying that our God will continue giving me the needed time to continue caring and instructing the young Christian's in their faith in Jesus Christ.
It is an honour to serve the Lord at G2 Hospital and witness his work in all we do. Participating in the work that He is building in Chad through G2 Hospital. This is part of his grace for us.
The Psalmist says in Psalms 8:3-5: "By the mouth of children... you have founded your glory, to confuse your adversaries, to impose silence on the enemy and the vengeful. When I contemplate the heavens, work of your hands, the moon and the stars you created, who is the man, so that you remember him? And the son of man, so that you take care of him?
May God be praised forever!
