April 2024

As we kneel down God is working!

We are rejoicing in the Lord and thanks to our partner churches as God has continued to reveal Himself to the people of Cambodia. Your prayer is not in vain let us rejoice and be glad in God.

Dormitory ministry update:

The Dormitory ministry in the capital city of Phnom Penh is going well. On 8th March 2024 Friday: Gospel meeting @ Horaios Dormitory Pastor Sopheak, who was a monk before he became Christian shared his testimony. Within this reporting period we have two new believers from the dormitory ministry and three of their friends from live in the city but not members of the dormitory are preparing to get baptized.

It is our joy to share that one of our students Srey Mean got 1st prize in a story telling competition organized by their education centre.

As a family we are preparing to go on home assignment in India to our home church in Mizoram. We will be in India in the month of June and July. God willing, I will visit 14 churches of the Baptist Church of Mizoram within 3 pastorates to give reports. Besides visiting 14 churches, I will be a speaker in two mission conventions in two places which focus on mission drive for the churches in Mizoram. We plan to be back in Cambodia in the 1st week of August 2024. Our three children- Caleb, Sarah and Puipuii are doing good. They have been able to attend the school every day. We are looking forward to let them meet their grandparent and our relatives in Mizoram.

Village ministry update:

Weekly home visit evangelism ministry focusing on three villages Tropeangrun, Vehpous and Svay saw have been going on. Thanks to God for everything in the past two months

·   Besides weekly home visit evangelism On 10th March in the afternoon, we had a group evangelism at Vehpous Village. Where two women decided to follow Jesus and are willing to be baptised.

·       On 24th March 2024, we had group evangelism at Tropeangrun village where 30 not yet christians gathered together. We preach the good news among them; they received well, the gospel message we proclaimed. God move amongst them and most of them believe Jesus is the son of God and want to follow him. However, there is an issue with their old practices which they could not suddenly stop due to their own cultural practice. We are trusting and praying that God will change their hearts.

·    Children ministry in the Vehpous village and Svay saw is also going well. During Good Friday and Easter Special program for children in Svay Saw was held.

In Svay Saw village, our support evangelist Chea Ko Sall and his Church members have been blessed with a new church building, which they are dedicatedly working hard to quickly complete.

New Believers:

We are joyful in the Lord and in your prayers for us as we see God answering your prayers. During the month of March and April we have new believers all together 15 people got baptized.  2 university student from Horaios Dormitory and another 3 people who are friends of our students. The rest are from the villages.

As our ministry focus is church planting and discipleship, we are embarking on a follow up program with the new believers in each villages.

Prayer requests:

  •     Let us give thanks to God for giving us 35 new believers since January 2024.
  •    Continue to pray for all the college students who are staying in the dormitory that they may become good followers of Jesus Christ. They may be successful in their studies.
  •    Pray for the church construction work going on in Svay Saw village. Our support evangelist Chea Ko sall and his family are working hard in construction work of the church building.
  •    Pray for my family as we are going on home assignment in our home town during the month of June-July.
  •      Pray for BCM Missionary Lalrelkimi and three supported Cambodian evangelists- Bros, Chea Ko Sall and Sokea.

Thank you for reading our prayer letters and your partnership with BMS which enables us to bear witness to Christ and make disciples in Cambodia. May God bless you all and unity our hearts to become more impactful in doing God’s mission.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!  (Philippians 4:4)
