I am Kalbassou Doubassou, missionary, working with BMS and Director of Guinebor 2 Hospital. My wife's name is Maimouna, we have a son, Israël Bert, and orphans who live with us. The last two months have been of great blessings for us as a family because God has allowed us to have a land cruiser car for our family to commute and continue with our ministry with churches.
My department team and I in the hospital, have helped many patients to recover their health through surgery and we as hospital continue ministering them in the wards on Wednesdays. We also pray for our patients during consultations and when the opportunity arises.
God has shown his goodness to us by granting us Dr. Asaf who is a surgeon from PAACS. He has been helping us with the hospital patient’s care. He is a man of good morals and faith.
We have the great joy of having Lucia Bastos, who has been seconded to the hospital by BMS. She is a great blessing to the hospital, especially to me. This because the hospital needs her financial expertise to train our finance local team in financial strategy, systems, policies, and procedures. Thanks to her help, we have been able to reduce the hospital expenditure by 7% this month. This because we are having problems with the hospital finances, and we need to put this under control. We give thanks to the Lord for the dedication of co-workers in our finance department too.
Finally, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Hospital and the Chadian Ministry of Health has been signed. Thank you for your prayers about this! Now we need to continue working around the hospital land tenure agreement’s plot where a school has been built. So, we need to recover that piece of land that belongs to the hospital.
We are also thankful to God because we have started a program focus on femoral head replacement with the help of Dr. Carsten of Sahel Life. As a hospital we have been given few equipment and instruments. However, our long-term goal is to get a Dr Surgeon as soon as possible because the number of patients for this service is increasing. Having that surgeon will allow me to share surgery responsibilities. We also need a General Practitioner Dr. Please pray that God helps BMS to identify these professionals and that they are willing to serve at G2 Hospital in Chad.
Please also pray for the patients that we serve every day. Most of them are very poor and some of them are not even able to pay for the small hospital fee and this is becoming a financial burden to the hospital and to the small fund initiative that we have destined to support this.
We thank the Lord for:
The support that we receive from churches in the UK in association with the BMS. Also, the support that we receive from AEM for us to serve the Chadian poor.
The health service that God continue allowing us to offer daily to our patients.
The Lord protection to us as staff and the patients that we serve.
Dr. Carsten and all his friends who donated the implants and instruments to G2 hospital.
The Lord’s daily mercy to us and the way that he continues allowing us to demonstrate his love to those who we serve.
Please pray for:
A most needed Dr Surgeon who is willing to serve with us at Guinebor 2 Hospital in Chad.
Lucia Bastos and the administrative team.
God will give me as the Hospital Director wisdom to know how to manage the hospital and the staff.
God continue enabling us to continue serving the poorest of the poor.
The hospital land tenure papers where a school has been built.
Let me conclude my newsletter by saying: "And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, now salvation has come, and the power, and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Christ; for he was cast down, the accuser of our brethren, the one who accused them before our God day and night. They overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the point of fearing death." Revelation 12:10-11.
May our Lord continues blessing you all.
Yours truly in Christ,
Kalbassou
