Gospel for All!

Dear co-workers in Christ

Greetings to you from Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We are really grateful to the BMS staff and the supporting churches in the UK for your collaboration in God’s mission in this world. We have been encouraged and strengthened by your partnership for the extension of the kingdom of God in Cambodia.

As it is my first time to write a prayer letter for the supporting churches in the UK, let me give a brief introduction to our ministry to help the readers to have a clear picture for prayers -

Dormitory ministry: This Dormitory ministry has been running since 2015 in the capital city of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. We named it as Horaios Dormitory, we rented two houses and converted them into a dormitory in order to provide accommodation to university students from rural areas at a more affordable price in the city.

Presently as of 27th Feb 2024, 18 students are staying in the dormitory with one missionary name Kimi from Baptist Church of Mizoram. Let us give thanks to God as we have more students compare to last year. There are 9 females and 9 males. Among 18 students 10 (3 girls and 7 boys) are not Christian. We teach Bible lessons, Christian songs, and we expect them to be involved in church activities and God’s mission.

This year is a year of challenges, as we have a new project - Next generation project (Children ministry in the village) which will be monitored by my wife. We are happy that our ministry is extended this year besides our on-going project.

Our three children- Caleb Grade 8, Sarah Grade 4 and Puipuii Grade 2 are doing good as they are able to attend the school every day and some times they join our village ministry on the weekend.

By God’s grace we are doing good and we preparing to visit our home Church in Mizoram, India in the month of June-July this year 2024. We are excited to be able to visit the churches in Mizoram and relatives especially for my wife and children this will be the family visit to our relatives after 2018.

New Baptised from the Dormitory: Thanks to God and the supporter this year we are blessed to have two ladies- Srey Nheap 20 years old and Srey Mean 19 years old who got baptised in the month of January 2024.

Focus Villages: We have been focusing on three villages- Tropeangrun village where there is no Christian yet, 70 kms from Phnom Penh. Vehpous village, 60 kms from Phnom Penh, and Svay Saw village which is around 290 kms from Phnom Penh. In these three villages an evangelism program has been taken up to plant the church and to develop the church. In Svay Saw and Vehpous, churches have been established with 20 and 50 members respectively.

New Believers in the village ministry: In the month of January 2024, we had two days gospel meet at Svay Saw village and nine 9 new believers were baptised. On 25th February 5 new believers were baptised in Svay Saw village. This village is one of our focus villages where one BMS supported evangelist have church planting ministry.

We have taken up small projects in community development in these three villages, a training program on health and sanitation will be held this coming year as the people need awareness on health and hygiene. Training on animal husbandry, fishery will be taken up this year.

This year a new project, that is the children ministry has been started in Vehpous village which is 60 kms from Phnom Penh. My wife Lalrengpuii is in-charge of this ministry which focusses on the Christian children to receive a relevant Bible lessons and teach them to grow in Christian life.

Horaios Baptist Church: Horaios Baptist Church was founded in 2015. It was started with 7 dormitory students, among which two students are Christian with the warden family (at that time the warden family have only one child, now they have their own house and blessed with one more child) we started regular Sunday worship on 25th Oct 2016. Now Horaios Baptist Church have 30 members with children and dormitory students.

o   Let us give thanks to God this year two ladies from the Dormitory and 14 people from village ministry got baptized.

o   Pray for all the college students who are staying in the Dormitory that they may become good followers of Jesus Christ. They may be successful in their studies.

o  Pray for Tropeangrun villagers that we may have new believers and the church may be established

Pray for the missionaries Rev. J. Lalduhawma and his family (Three children), one lady Lalrelkimi and three Cambodian evangelists supported by BMS namely Bros, Chea Ko Soll and Sokea. They may have wisdom and be filled by the holy spirit to take up their ministry

Thank you for supporting BMS and reading our prayer letters. May God bless you all and united our hearts to become more impactful in doing His mission as we serve in different places.

Commit your way to the LORD;  Trust in him and he will do this. (Psalm 37:5)

Blessings
