“The man in this photo was a villager from a very rural part of Bangladesh. Evangelists from the Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha, who are supported by BMS World Mission, had been at work in his village where he heard about Jesus Christ. His family and friends were also moved by hearing the gospel and decided to follow Jesus too. However, having a public baptism in the village would be complicated, so they decided to travel the long distance to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. It was very moving to be there, knowing how sincere their faith was, but also the effort and sacrifices they’d made to be there.”
“Dhaka was non-stop hustle and bustle. There were no quiet times or quiet streets. Around every corner was an endless stream of activity and life, with work happening everywhere. And yet down one little side street we saw a group of boys playing football. They were having so much fun that it was hard not to get drawn into their shared joy. Our other cameraman, Aaron, even joined in!”
“Bina was such a joy to watch. You could tell she knew everyone in the village and wanted to know everyone. No conversation was too long, no question went unanswered. If someone brought their child, Bina made sure to get down on their level and connect with them. It was inspiring to watch.”
“The revival service in Jessore in southern Bangladesh was a reminder that no matter where you are in the world, no matter the differences in culture or language, gathering together in worship and to praise God is universal. I felt at home and I felt lifted by the joy around me.”
