Jimmy Okello
Born and raised in Gulu, northern Uganda, Jimmy experienced the 22-year Lord’s Resistance Army war before seeking safety and education in Kampala. In 2000, he found faith, and by 2008, he answered God’s call for him become an ordained minister. Married to Phionah in 2009, they returned to Gulu to establish a church. Now also working part-time with JLH three days a week, Jimmy serves as a Church Engagement Worker, liaising between JLH and Baptist Associations in Gulu and nearby districts. Co-ordinating church leader training for capacity building and Church Community Mobilisation Programmes (CCMP) in Gulu, he bridges the gap between development and spiritual transformation. Working with BMS World Mission since 2021, Jimmy has conducted leadership development with three Baptist associations, and started CCMP in 2024.
