This year, to coincide with our quadrennial ‘Expect’ conference, BMS World Mission will be hosting events for churches and individuals around the UK to share our heart and vision for mission. This in-person event at Bromsgrove Baptist Church will be an opportunity to hear from Ardi Wiriadinata (Asia Pacific Baptist Federation) and Lucia Bastos (Chad) alongside Sam Chaise, Head of Programme for People on the Move at BMS, to explore what God is doing around the world, worship together and to pray for the global Church.

Originally from Canada and now based in Lille, France, Sam brings extensive leadership experience from roles in Canadian Baptist Ministries and the Christie Refugee Welcome Centre. His ministry focuses on equipping churches to respond to global migration with compassion and theological depth, including through partnerships with Quest Academy. Sam’s passion lies in helping churches embody the gospel in culturally diverse and complex contexts.
Director of Mission, Asia Pacific Baptist Federation
Ardi serves in Indonesia and is married to Lily with two daughters. He has been working in ministry since 2003 as a church planter, pastor, lecturer, speaker. Since 2021 he has been Director of Mission at the Asia Pacific Baptist Federation. Ardi is responsible for connecting all 65 Baptist convention members and facilitating mission-focused collaboration through training, consultation, and mentoring, fulfilling APBF’s vision to reach all nations and people groups in Asia and the Pacific by 2040. BMS has worked with APBF for over a decade.
Mission worker in Chad
Lucia began her time with BMS World Mission in 2022 in West Africa. In January 2024, she joined the BMS team working at Guinebor II Hospital in Chad as their Projects and Partnerships Officer. Her responsibilities include managing relationships with international partners, foreign embassies, and local offices of INGOs or UN agencies. Lucia, whose home country is Brazil, had 15 years of mission experience before joining BMS.
