I am grateful for God’s faithfulness and for your continued partnership in prayer as EQUIP moves through a significant season of ministry. Over the past few months, I have been encouraged by opportunities for networking, fellowship, staff development, community service, training students, teachers, school leaders and Christian leaders. Please join me in giving thanks for what the Lord has already done.
Attending the Expect26 Conference and visiting churches across the UK in the last week of June and first week of July was a deeply meaningful and enriching experience for me. The conference provided a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, worship, and hear inspiring stories of what God is doing through His people around the world. My visits to churches were equally special, as I had the privilege of sharing EQUIP’s vision and work with many of you. The conversations, prayers, encouragement, and genuine interest shown by so many you were a great blessing to me. I was deeply touched by the warmth, kindness, and generous hospitality I received everywhere I went, and I returned home grateful and encouraged by the relationships strengthened and the shared desire to serve God’s purposes together.
In Siraha EQUIP staff provided Creation care training to students to strengthen environmental awareness and responsible waste management, while trash bins were distributed to four schools and two local churches to promote cleaner and healthier surroundings. Ongoing subject-specific mentoring was conducted for Early grade to grade 8 teachers, helping improve teaching methods, lesson preparation, classroom management, and learner engagement. Follow-up support was also provided on School Improvement Plan activities, including Learning Walks and Creative Assemblies, as well as on the use of distributed educational resources to ensure they are effectively supporting teaching and learning. Homework club continue to run giving students additional academic support and helping improve their study habits, confidence, and participation. In addition, follow-ups on online exploitation, human trafficking, and drug abuse reinforced students’ understanding of risks, prevention measures, and the importance of seeking help from trusted adults. Overall, these activities have contributed to improved teaching quality, stronger student participation, safer learning environments, better environmental practices, and increased awareness of important child-safeguarding issues.
In July I was able to provide an induction session for new KISC staff who were in Nepal for the first time, introducing them to the work of EQUIP and the wider Nepali educational context. The session helped staff understand EQUIP’s role in supporting and strengthening education in Nepal, while also giving them useful insight into the opportunities, challenges, culture, and realities of working within the Nepali education system. This provided a helpful foundation for new staff as they began their roles at KISC and adjusted to living and serving in Nepal.
During the first week of August, EQUIP staff had the opportunity to join other staff members for staff training days. The days included prayer and devotion and meaningful sessions on, Health and Safety, Safeguarding, and a refresher on key Policies and Procedures. It was a valuable opportunity for staff to learn together and engage with one another. I also had the opportunity to share about EQUIP, helping whole staff gain a better understanding of its work, purpose, and contribution within the wider Nepali schools’ communities.
In August, EQUIP successfully established two high-quality ICT labs in two rural schools in Rukum West, creating new opportunities for both teachers and students to engage with the digital world. Equipped with essential ICT resources, these labs are helping bridge the digital divide by improving access to technology, supporting innovative teaching and learning practices, and strengthening digital skills within the school communities. This initiative marks an important step toward ensuring that students in remote areas have greater access to modern learning opportunities and are better prepared for an increasingly technology-driven future.
In July, Meena and I were able to celebrate our birthday with our families.
In the past I use to run basic educational guidance session with to the grade ten students before they persue further education. But in month of July I was able to mentor and prepare a young Christian lady to run the session in future, that way we would be able to support more students in future.
In August Haggai Alumni Association Nepal organized an Advanced Leadership Seminar for Nepali Christian leaders with the vision of equipping leaders to help end Gospel poverty in Nepal. Both me and my wife Meena being the Haggai alumni and national faculties had the opportunity to contribute to the development of 24 Christian leaders. I facilitated a session on Effective witness in leadership, while Meena facilitated a practical session on Setting and achieving goals for evangelizing. These sessions contributed meaningfully to the seminar’s overall objective of strengthening and equipping Christian leaders for greater impact in their churches, ministries, and communities.
