Dear friends and supporters,
As we look back on the months of June–August 2026, we are humbled by the many ways God has been at work among us. The scope of his blessings is far greater than we can fully capture here, yet we are glad to share a few key moments and testimonies that reflect his faithfulness. In this prayer letter I include testimony of Srey Nou. May these glimpses encourage your heart and remind us all that his mission continues through every step we take together.
Ministry Report (June–August 2026)
Seminars & Trainings
By God’s grace, we had three seminars and trainings in the village which I was privileged to conduct and lead.
14 July – Svaysor Baptist Church I facilitate a seminar with over 25 church leaders on The Importance of Prayer and The Meaning and Purpose of the Church. Together we reflected on prayer as central to Christian life and clarified the mission of the Church as distinct from NGOs.
7 August – Banlung, Ratanagiri We held training on how to teach prayer and storytelling in ministry with 29 participants from nearby villages. This was hosted by missionary families Reli and his family, and Ketho & Ena from the Angami Baptist Church Council.
15 August – Veshpouh Baptist Church I led practical training for 17 participants on Bible storytelling, Bible study, prayer and teaching children to pray. Participants practiced in groups, equipping one another for ministry.
Evangelists’ Monthly Meetings
As part of our regular ministry, I facilitated three evangelist gatherings on June 2, July 9, and August 4, 2026. In each meeting we shared ministry reports, planned for the month ahead, and encouraged one another through prayer and fellowship. We also spent time learning practical ways to present the Gospel clearly and to tell Bible stories in simple, meaningful ways.
Weekly Bible Study
As part of my regular routine, I lead the weekly Bible study at Horaios Dormitory every Monday night. At present, we are studying the theme “I Am” sayings of Jesus.
New Preaching Station
On 12 July – at Chheba Ampov we started Sunday morning worship service with children, followed by English class. Weekly gatherings will continue. Please pray for the children and that their families will join in worship. From our team two missionaries and our supported Bible college student will take up this responsibility.
Evangelism Program
17 June – Rokaipouk Village Evangelist team visited 20 households to share the gospel.
New believers Baptisms
14 June – Svaysor: Three new believers baptized by Pastor Cheakosal.
Tropenag Tonluab: within July 2 new believers baptized my Soyra
9 August – Horaios Dormitory: Srey Nou (20 years old) baptized by Pastor J.
23 August – Tropeang Chitial: Two new believers baptized by Pastor Phen.
We thank God that during June–August, within our ministry team and focus areas, eight people came to faith in Christ.
Family Update
By God’s grace, our family is doing well.
From June 15–30, I attended the BMS conference in the UK and visited several churches including Creech St Michael (Taunton), Fleet Baptist, Altrincham Baptist, People’s Church Partington, and Colchester Baptist. It was a joy to fellowship with BMS leaders and congregations, and I am deeply thankful for the warm welcome and hospitality from the churches and families during my visit.
Our eldest son Caleb volunteered to teach in our free English class during his summer break. He also achieved positive results in his Cambridge exams (A in Business, B in English). Our daughter Sarah received two honors Prize: Student of the Semester – Middle school and Social Scientist of the Year 2025–2026. We are so grateful to God.
In August, all three children began their new school year: Caleb (Grade 11), Sarah (Grade 8), and Rosangpuii (Grade 5). My wife Lalrengpuii, besides serving as a Sunday school teacher, regularly teaches 25–30 children Bible stories with crafts every Friday. We are grateful for God’s blessings and your continued prayers for our family.
Srey Nou’s Testimony (Testimony shared by Srey Nou before baptism on 9 August 2026)
Greetings Pastors, brothers, and sisters in Christ. Today, 9 August 2026, I am truly joyful because I have decided to follow Jesus Christ and be baptized. I would like to share how I came to accept Him as my Lord and Savior.
My name is Srey Nou, from Kompong Thom province. I have two sisters and one brother. When I came to PhnomPenh to study in the the college at first, I lived in a rented house with my sister, but when she returned to the province, I was left alone. I often felt afraid and lonely. My cousin, Brother Ly, (Ly is one of the former hostellers he stayed in the dorm 2015-2018) encouraged me many times to move into the Horaios Dormitory, saying it was safe and well cared for, but I refused. One night, when he visited me, I broke down in tears because of fear. He comforted me and explained again the advantages of the dormitory. That very night, I decided to move in.
I came to the dormitory not because I wanted to know Christ, but because of my situation—fear of staying alone, high rent, and financial struggles. Later, my workplace closed, and I had no money for my studies. I felt hopeless and depressed. During that time, I remembered Pastor J’s words: “When you struggle and have no one to talk to, pray to God.” Though I was not yet a Christian, I began to pray. God answered in amazing ways. I received a scholarship even though the program had already closed, and I also found a new job. These blessings showed me that God is real, alive, and hears our prayers. I began to believe that He never leaves us, even when answers are delayed.
Because of these experiences, I decided to follow Jesus and be baptized. I thank Brother Lee for guiding me to the dormitory, Teacher Kim for helping me grow in confidence, and Pastor J for teaching me God’s Word.
Please continue to pray for me as a new follower of Christ—that I may remain faithful and that my family may also grow in faith.
Thank you.
Prayer Requests
1. Pray for strength and wisdom for pastors and evangelists as they continue training and outreach.
2. Pray for the new believers they may stand firm in their faith.
3. Please pray with us for the ministry center. The two-years grace period from the Land Lord is now over, and from January 2027 the rent for the boys’ dormitory and worship hall (our ministry center) will rise from $550 to $1,350. We need wisdom to make the right decision—whether to continue renting or seek another place. The building is very convenient for our ministry, and we truly desire to remain if possible.
We are upheld by your faithful prayers and encouragement, and we give thanks to God for His goodness and the privilege of sharing this mission journey alongside you.
Matthew 7:7- “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
With blessings,
Pastor J & Family
