Equipping Churches to reach the unreached people

Back to Morocco

I recently had the privilege of spending four days in Morocco with my dear brother in Christ, Mr. E — for four days, the Lord filled with grace upon grace, opportunities to serve, to teach, to encourage, and to watch His Spirit move among His people.

Twenty six believers gathered for training, traveling from five different areas of Morocco, each one hungry to grow, each one a testimony of the Lord's faithfulness. We ran two sessions simultaneously: my friend taught on ministry among children, while I taught on becoming disciples who make disciples. It was a living picture of 1 Corinthians 12, the body of Christ, many members, one Spirit, each serving according to the grace given.

The heat was relentless, reaching 46°C at times. Yet our brothers and sisters did not let the fire of the sun outweigh the fire in their hearts. Their perseverance humbled us and reminded us that the Kingdom advances not by comfort, but by consecration.

My friend's training met a real and long-standing need. One leader's wife, a believer for over seventeen years, wept as she shared this was the very first children's ministry training she had ever received. Hearts were stirred afresh to disciple the next generation — in the church and in the home — for "let the little children come to Me" is still His heart today.

Beyond the sessions, we sat with people — one soul at a time — listening, praying, speaking truth in love. Again and again, forgiveness surfaced as a wound needing a balm of the Gospel. In those quiet moments, ministry became what it has always been, walking beside the wounded, carrying burdens, and pointing broken hearts towards the Cross, where true freedom is found.

Serving in Morocco continues to deepen my understanding of the New Testament church. Here, in raw and simple faith, dependence on the Holy Spirit, love for the brethren, and even the struggles Paul addressed — division, immaturity, growth — I see the early church breathing again before my eyes. We give thanks to God for these four days — for the privilege of witnessing His church being built in real time, stone by living stone. To God be the Glory!

Marriage and Baptism

In Morocco, our brothers and sisters wait with longing hearts for gatherings such as these — for it is only here, in the sacred fellowship of the saints, that they can be buried with Christ in baptism and rise to walk in newness of life, and see their marriages blessed under Christ, since the law of the land binds them first to marry according to Islamic custom. This time, the Lord in His mercy entrusted me with something I will treasure forever: I performed two small wedding ceremonies and witnessed a baptism, woven together as one tapestry of grace.

The women stood radiant in traditional garments, shining through simplicity, as I spoke Christian vows over each couple and blessed their union — vows. anchored in Scripture, sealed in covenant, with Christ Himself as the cornerstone of their marriage. Then came the baptism — a life publicly confessed as belonging to Jesus, washed clean by His blood, raised to walk in the Spirit, while joy and laughter filled the place, and rejoicing swept over every witness gathered there.

It was a holy, weighty, tear-filled hour. Heaven bent low to touch earth, and I stood undone — a servant humbled to have been counted worthy.

Discipleship

"When I booked my ticket to Morocco, an error added an extra day to my trip.

At first, I was annoyed — an inconvenience, a wasted day, or so I thought. But the Lord's ways are higher than ours, and His plans are never accidents.

During the training, I met a young man — a young believer, bold enough to have left his own home for the sake of his faith.

Yet beneath his courage, he felt lost, searching, unsure of his next step. When the training ended, I invited him to stay with me through that extra day I had not planned for.

What followed was a sacred time of discipleship and fellowship. He asked question after question, hungry for wisdom, seeking counsel for his life.

I encouraged him, among other things, to return to college and continue his studies. Hour by hour, the Lord knit our hearts together as brothers.

At the end, he said through tears, "I thought coming to this training was an accident — but it was God's plan, because I desperately needed to hear these things."

In that moment, I understood: my mistaken ticket was no mistake at all.

It was the Father's perfect appointment, ordained before the foundation of the world.
