Hello Dear Prayer Partners and Friends,
I am Rev. Barnabas Hembrom serving the Almighty God as a Mission Manager with Bangladesh Baptist Church Sangha. Warm greetings to you in the precious name of Jesus. I am so thankful for your faithful prayers and support. It is a joy to partner together in sharing the gospel, especially among those who have had little or no opportunity to hear it before. We are encouraged by what God has been doing in the past few months and are excited to share some updates with you.
Over the Christmas season, we had the wonderful opportunity to organise outreach activities among unreached communities in different areas in Bangladesh. Christmas is often recognised culturally, but many people here do not understand its true meaning. This opened a special door for us to clearly share why Jesus came into the world.
We organised several gatherings and intentionally invited local community and leaders, elders and families. Building relationships with leaders is very important in this context, as their openness often influences the wider community. We were grateful that many accepted our invitation and attended the celebration.
During the events, we shared the Christmas story with drama in a clear and contextualised way, explaining God’s love for humanity and the hope found in Christ. We emphasised that Jesus came not simply as a teacher, but as Savior-to bring forgiveness, peace with God, and new life. For many who attended, this was the first time they had heard the gospel explained so personally and clearly.
In addition to the message, we spent time in conversation, answering questions and listening carefully to people’s thoughts and concerns. These discussions were meaningful and respectful. Several individuals expressed a desire to learn more, and we have since been able to follow up with some of them for further conversations.
We truly sensed God at work through these outreach activities. There was unity among our team, openness among the listeners, and a deep awareness of the Holy Spirit guiding us. The outreach was very effective, not only in proclaiming the gospel but also in strengthening trust and relationship within the community. We continue to pray that the seeds planted during Christmas will bear lasting fruit in the months and years to come.
On a personal level, I am grateful for God’s sustaining grace. Ministry in spiritually resistant contexts can be both joyful and challenging. There are moments of encouragement and moments that require perseverance. This season has reminded us again of the importance of prayer, rest, and staying rooted in God’s Word.
As a team, we are doing well and thankful for good health. We are learning to balance ministry responsibilities with personal time and mutual encouragement. Your prayers truly make a difference in helping us remain strong and focused.
Prayer requests
Please pray for those who heard the Gospel during the Christmas outreach- that God would continue to work in their hearts and draw them to Himself.
Pray for wisdom and favour as we fellow up with local leaders and interested individuals.
Ask the Lord to strengthen and protect our team as we continue working among unreached people.
Give thanks for the openness we experienced and for the unity and boldness God provided during the outreach.

With love in Christ,
Rev. Barnabas Hemrom
