Strengthening education systems through teacher training, student & parantal engagement, environmental awareness, and digital access

EQUIP successfully started the new academic year 2025–26 by signing a partnership agreement with all 40 partner schools in four districts and submitting annual progress reports.

In all four districts EQUIP provided one to two rounds of training and follow ups to the school leaders, teachers, parents and students. EQUIP also distributed teaching resources, physical education resources, science lab resources, classroom libraries, parent logbooks, and teacher diaries. Similarly, in collaboration with EduTech Nepal, EQUIP set up ICT labs in two Rukum West schools and provided training to both teachers and students. With the training they received, students and teachers now have access to high-quality computers enabling them to learn new skills, as well as equipping them for their futures. It is such a joy to have this transformational impact in rural Nepal!

We celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday and my 53^rd on 23rd July!  As part of the celebration we had an extended family dinner with my mum, dad and two of my brothers' family. My wife is managing high cholesterol with medicine. My eldest daughter just launched her small online jewellery business alongside her banking job. As a couple we were able to conduct another Marriage Enrichment Seminar for a church in Kathmandu for 16 couples.

EQUIP facilitated the formation of Child Clubs in the partner schools in Rukum West and Lamjung and provided Creation Care training to the members of the Child Clubs. One of the participants on the Creation Care training said:“Before joining the Child Club, I was very shy and never spoke in front of others. But now, I help lead activities, talk to my classmates about caring for the environment, and even teach younger students how to keep our school clean.”

In Rukum West on 5^th June, EQUIP facilitated the celebration of World Environment Day in eight partner schools. The schools were engaged in tree plantation, cleaning their schools, taking part in an environmental awareness rally and a clean-up campaign. The schools also conducted drawing, speech, and quiz competitions on the theme of the environment.

All these efforts strengthened teacher skills, student participation, school resources and fostered a more interactive and supportive learning environment in the schools.

Christian Educators’ Network Nepal (CEN Nepal) is a loose network of committed people in Christ working in different schools, institutions, and organisations, and networks to encourage people to live out God's Kingdom values in our workplace and beyond through our words and deeds. I am one of the core team members representing KISC EQUIP in Christian Educators’ Network, Nepal.  As a core team we have been able to meet twice to discuss how CEN Nepal can be the channel of blessings for Christian teachers in Nepal.

·       Safety for our travelling teams and support for their families during their absences.

·       Salvation for my sister-in-law in Colchester, that she may experience Christ’s love.

·       Please continue to pray for my relative battling blood cancer, for his complete healing.

·       Two new staff members (teacher trainer & education facilitator) who have now settled well into their roles.

·       As a family we are planning to visit Kolkota and celebrate Christmas there, please pray for this visit to be a good family time.
