Boondeekhun's Bulletin

Dear Friends

Greetings from the UK, where we're enjoying the lovely warm summer weather. We're here for our Home Assignment, travelling up and down the country visiting churches and meeting with friends and supporters. It's always so encouraging to meet with these folk who have been faithfully praying for us over the years.

Whilst we are away we are so grateful to God for providing Pastors Neng and Sky to replace Moses and Mary and enable the work to continue in the Wang Daeng church. It usually takes a long time to find a new pastor, especially in rural Thailand, but they came just a month later - Praise God! Please pray for their adjustment and that they would have wisdom, enthusiasm and strength in serving God.

Thank God too for Fhan - borrowed from Bangkok - who is following up the believers in Tao Hai and Ban Geng, as well as helping with youth work. She recently helped to organise a youth camp in Wang Daeng with 30 youngsters attending. It was very successful and many of the young people gave their lives to Christ. Please pray for the follow-up programme of these new young believers.

We also thank God for Pastor Fluk, who we borrowed back for a couple of months whilst we are away. He has been involved in the music ministry and in teaching the guitar to some of the young teenagers at Wang Daeng. He is also going to be helping out with the youth and music ministry at the Ban Dara church.

Up in Maesan, Pastor Newton is doing a great job in building up the congregation in their faith and knowledge of God's Word. He also volunteers at the local school and goes visiting in the village. Pray for many more people to come to faith in Maesan village.

As many of you will know, three weeks before Home Assignment, Helen was closing the front gate when it came loose from its bolts and fell backwards on top of her, crushing her left knee. An X-ray and then MRI revealed that no bones were broken but that the patellar tendon had been ruptured, along with other muscular damage. She had an operation on her knee the following day and from then has followed the gradual, but surprisingly pain-free path back to mobility. Her recovery has been surprisingly quick, although perhaps not so surprising considering all the prayers and her diligence in doing all the physio exercises. She is now able to walk short distances without crutches and hopes to be fully mobile before our return to Thailand. Praise God, it hasn't stopped her from being fully involved in the Home Assignment programme as well as catching up with friends and family.

In Ban Dara, Pastor Areerat is working hard to teach the Bible to the new believers in the various care groups. The leaders group are doing a more in depth overview of the Old and New Testaments. We hope that they in turn will be able to teach the Bible to the newer believers. Unfortunately the youth work is not going so well in Ban Dara, so we are praying that Pastor Fluk will be able to encourage and teach the young people there, alongside Tiw and Som. In the future we are looking to find or train a full-time youth worker for Ban Dara.

When Pastor Moses left, the football ministry temporarily stopped, but thankfully we were able to get a coach to train the small group of young people who wanted to continue. You may remember Ajarn Tah who used to work with us - he now comes three evenings a week to do football coaching as part of the Immanuel Football League (IFL). He's also training 17-year-old Choob to be a coach, sponsored by the IFL, so please pray for this young man from the Wang Daeng Church. Pray too for the other teenagers in the team to come to faith through this ministry.

Please pray for safe travels and fruitful church visits over the remainder of our Home Assignment

Pray for Pastor Neng and Sky as they adjust to life and ministry in Wang Daeng

Pray for the football ministry and that these young players would come to know Jesus

Pray for Pastor Areerat and the new believers in Ban Dara, and for the youth ministry

Pray for Pastor Newton as he diciples the believers in Maesan

Pray that all three churches would grow both in numbers and in depth of faith

Please also pray for our son and daughter-in-law currently raising support prior to going out to serve God in South East Asia - that the Lord would supply all of their needs and give them peace

Blessings in Christ
