Fruits of our Labour

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Warm regards from Bandung, Indonesia! We hope this message finds you well, upheld by His endless mercy and grace. There is profound peace in walking daily under His guidance, trusting the Holy Spirit to shape our lives and steer our paths. Your faithful prayers remain a constant source of strength, lifting our hearts and anchoring us in hope. Thank you for standing with us in faith and fellowship.

By the Lord’s divine providence, churches and Baptist conventions across Singapore and Indonesia were stirred in 2021 to form SINERGI—a fellowship anchored in the Great Commission, crying out, “United to Finish the Task.” Over four years, we marveled as the Holy Spirit moved mightily: Missionaries were sent, souls in Sumatra and East Indonesia surrendered to Christ, and disciples multiplied. Now, in His boundless wisdom, God has expanded this vision to include Malaysia and the Philippines, birthing SIMPhONI (Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines – Outreach, Networking, Initiatives).

We are grateful that God continues to guide and protects our family. Please pray for our oldest daughter Joanna, she will be entering her final year of university and will have to start writing a thesis for her undergraduate studies in Psychology, beginning in August. Please also pray for our youngest daughter Melody, as she transitions to 11th Grade in High School, pray that she can keep her grades up and grow in character and in her relationship with the Lord. Pray that my wife and I will be a Spirit sensitive parent as we parent our girls.

On March 24, 2025, Baptist leaders from these nations gathered in Kuching, Malaysia, to kneel in prayer and pledge anew to mobilize churches, equip laborers, and adopt Unreached and Unengaged People Groups (U/UPGs). Together, we seek to plant sustainable Gospel footholds among the Temoq (Johor-Seremban) and Kedayan (Sarawak) peoples, with the first missionaries set to launch in January 2026.

The Lord, in His mercy, has ignited a fire within Asia Pacific Baptist Youth (APBY) and Asia Pacific Baptist Federation (APBF) to answer Christ’s Great Commission with urgency. Through #APBY2mil, we seek to mobilize 2 million youth to surrender their passions, energy, and lives to proclaim the Gospel where His name is not yet known. Since December 2024, the Lord has already equipped 39 young leaders through cross-cultural training, preparing them to step into unfamiliar lands, languages, and worldviews—trusting His promise that “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9).

By faith, we plan for the month of July 2026, on an APBF facilitated mission trip, consisting of youths from all of our member conventions. The trip is planned for Phnom Penh, Stung Treng, Ratanakiri, and Mondulkiri, where over 15.5 million souls dwell among five Unengaged People Groups (UUPGs) and one Unreached People Group (UPG). This is not merely a “trip,” but a sacred assignment: to immerse in communities, serve sacrificially, share the Gospel boldly, and plant seeds of discipleship that only the Holy Spirit can grow.

Prayer requests:

  • We are grateful there is progress in the #APBY2mil program, in 2026, the APBF Mission is organizing a combined youth mission trip to one country in the Indochina region. This is part of the practice of a mission training that we have done through zoom for the APBF.
  • Please pray for the MD2 (discipleship conference and workshops) in Okinawa this coming August. As part of the plan to equip Baptist youths in Asia Pacific, this initiative seeks to equip and train youths to be a disciple maker in their church and in their communities.
  • Please join in prayer along with many other Baptists in Asia Pacific as we embark the mission movement of the #APBY2mil program. Pray that the fruits of this movement in the Baptist youth will be a significant advancement of the Gospel in the unreached and unengaged areas of Asia and Pacific, and even beyond.
  • Please also pray for a Pastors' conference in Mongolia, as an APBF-BMS event. This conference will serve the pastors of Mongolian Baptist and their family to be leading in disciple making.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for standing with me through your prayers and support. Your faithfulness in lifting up my family, my ministries, and the work God has called me to means more than I can express. It’s a constant reminder that we’re truly one family in Christ—no matter if we’re serving in the UK, Indonesia, or elsewhere, our lives are knit together by His grace and our shared mission to make Jesus known. Your love in action through prayer keeps us anchored and hopeful. Let’s keep pressing onward, together, for His glory.

Blessings,

Ardi
