We trust that the Lord has been good to you and the family and that you are all well.
We thank the Lord so much for the gift of a new day and for his mercy that endures forever.
We are already half down the year, and the month seems moving so fast.
The farming activities are going on so well and the first season has been good enough. Most of the crops are mature and in about 2-3 weeks most farmers will be harvesting their first crops from the garden.
Most of the gardens looks good and promising. We would like to thank the Lord so much for the rainfall has been fairly good enough during this first season.
There has been a number of you praying and also most of you gave in financial support through BMS world mission to support these rural farmers improve their livelihoods. We are very happy, and we would like to say thank you so much for what you have done.
In general observation, the farming level is better for most of the participating households compared to last year 2023. There is great improvement across the participating communities, and this is a very great encouragement to us.
Recently we had a monitoring visit to our farming groups and few selected households to check on how they are doing in terms of food security and potential crop harvest. We were accompanied by Nwoya District leadership in the capacity of the Chief Administrative Officer, District Community Development Officer and the District Chairperson who were impressed by the performance of the farming group and the farmers at household level.
The district officials promised to link some of the farmers to market and also support them as the district so that they become model farmers in the area.
I am happy that all the households will have enough food from the season crops, not like last year whereby during this month the crops were not well, and prices of commodities were high compared to this year. The price for the crops is more stable and there are more fresh crops in the market.
We were able to visit and encourage the groups at Alelelele. The District Officials encouraged the farmers and appreciated Church for leading the transformation in the area. The church being the mobiliser and taking the lead in both spiritual and physical development. They pledge to continue supporting the group and the farmers in this area so they many farmers can learn and grow through their network and lead farmers in this group.
They appreciated the support and leadership of JLH to these groups with support from BMS world mission. They were able to give thanks to the Lord for these initiatives and community development.
The attendances at Alelelele Baptist Church actually grew from 50 to 80 adults from last year as a result of the farming activities. A number of men and women in the area joint the church through their colleagues who are participating in the farming project. Their testimonies are very encouraging how they came to saving love of our lord Jesus Christ. Now they are learning the word of the Lord and also working so hard to transform their families.
Pray for the health of my children, during rainy season, malaria is very challenging to control
Pray that the second season rain will be good as the first rain season
Pray for the new members who joint these participating churches, that they will be able to learn and grow in the love of Christ
May the Lord Bless you so much for your partnership in mission. Catch up again next time.
Thanks,
Genesis
