Welcome the Children

Dear Family and Friends,

Grace and Peace to you! It was so encouraging to see some of you online during the 24/7 Partners virtual gathering. Your prayers are such a treasure to us.

We are now fully into the school year; everyone is focused on learning and developing. We know a number of you have been praying for and asking after our children, so we decided to focus this prayer letter on them.

Phoebe turns 9 on May 15th. She is creative and appears to be an engineer in the making. She likes to build Lego projects, take apart electrical goods and put them back together again. She often watches 'How to' and 'How it's made' videos. She is an active footballer and really enjoys PE. She has recently been selected to represent her school in soccer tournaments and during school break times, she can be seen playing an impromptu match with her friends. She is usually the only girl in the team and is unfazed by that. She is popular and has many friends, although she does not enjoy being the centre of attention. Please pray for her maths appreciation as she struggles with this quite a bit. She also gets frustrated when her classmates are not paying attention, or otherwise showing disrespect to their teachers or other adults. Pray for her to have patience and be able to forgive.

Ruth is our 10-year-old princess of the family. She loves to dress up in pink and flouncy costumes and is always using her imagination to make exciting journeys, sometimes with her lovely dolls. She organises them to have birthday parties, church services or they could be going on holiday! She also has a few friends and enjoys basketball and gymnastics. She has a special place in her heart for little kids and many of them really seem to love her too! She thoroughly enjoys playing with our neighbour's dog Maggie. Please pray for her to learn to read, write with understanding and be able to do basic maths which are more of a struggle for her because of her special educational needs. She has great empathy for those who are on the margins.

Jonathan is our 13-year-old champion. He is an introvert and like Phoebe, also enjoys football. He is part of the school team for the second year running and gets a lot out of the weekly training sessions, sometimes as a goalkeeper. He watches Anime cartoons and plays team games on the computer with his sister Phoebe and some friends from school. In school, he is part of several subject group projects and really likes being part of a team. He is interested in animal conservation. Please pray for him to keep up with his schoolwork, keep being responsible, continue building good friendships and having fun.

Michele is travelling to Cajamarca, in the mountains of Peru at the beginning of May to teach with a team about missions. Please pray for her trip to go smoothly, and for the team to be able to really encourage the churches in that region with their outreach ministries. She is also teaching at the seminary about the lives of great missionaries. Dave is teaching both at our church and a church plant connected to it. Please pray for him as he completes two essays for his Masters and prepares with a team at the seminary for a missions trip to visit and teach the Awahun community. As the psalmist says 'In that wonderful day you will sing; Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is! Sing to the Lord, for he has done wonderful things. Make known his praise around the world'. Isaiah 12:4-5 NLT.Thank you again so much for your prayers and giving.
